The Dutch Research School of Philosophy (OZSW) and the Ethics Institute of Utrecht University invite you to a five-day spring school (formerly known as winter school) on Ethical Theory and Applied Ethics from 20-24 April 2015. This intensive course will be held at the Woodbrooke Hotel in Barchem, the Netherlands.

This course is aimed at PhD students but also open to Research Master students. Previous education in practical philosophy and ethics is required, and must extend beyond the level of a BA level introductory ethics course.

The aim of the course is to give an overview of the role of different normative theories in applied contexts, and to discuss methods of justification of normative claims and further methodological issues (such as the use of empirical research in ethics) The participants are expected to connect these discussions to their own research projects.
