Dear Research Master Students,
The Dutch Research School of Philosophy (OZSW) and the University of Groningen invite all research master students to a three-day winter school that will take place from 9 to 11 February 2017 at the University of Groningen.
The Winter School aims to provide students from the 5 ReMa programmes (Groningen, Utrecht, Nijmegen, UvA and Rotterdam) with an overview of broad range of active philosophical research being done in the Netherlands, to contribute to their professional development, and to give them an opportunity to meet one another.
In the three research-oriented sessions, 2 or 3 speakers will give a presentation on a philosophical topic related to their research. Students will then have an opportunity for questions.
Each session will be followed by a panel discussion (about 45 minutes) in which speakers talk about their own experiences as researchers, discuss how their research developed, and provide some useful advice.
There will also be sessions devoted to several aspects of professional development, including how to write a successful research proposal and how to get published in a philosophy journal, as well as a discussion of possibilities for contributing to philosophy in the public sphere.
