Over the past decade, the European Union has both grown more influential and more controversial, and as the European Elections are coming up, it is high time to reflect on its future. Therefore, on the 6th of May, the Utrecht University Ethics Institute will organize a symposium entitled ‘Europe’s Future’, where we will debate the themes ‘Europe and Democracy’ and ‘Europe and Human Rights’. The first theme will be discussed by Dr. Stefan Rummens (KU Leuven), and Dr. Ronald Tinnevelt…

Therefore, on the 6th of May, the Utrecht University Ethics Institute will organize a symposium entitled 'Europe's Future', where we will debate the themes 'Europe and Democracy' and 'Europe and Human Rights'. The first theme will be discussed by Dr. Stefan Rummens (KU Leuven), and Dr. Ronald Tinnevelt (RU Nijmegen) will present a paper on the second theme. Comments will be provided by Dr. Rutger Claassen (UU) and Prof. Dr. Ingrid Robeyns (UU).
We invite all Master-students, PhD-students and staff-researchers to join us and think about the important issue that is the European Union. There is no better way to prepare for casting your European vote! Sign up, before May 2, by sending an e-mail to j.m.hamer@uu.nl - keep in mind that we only have room for a limited number of participants!
