All the best, Nina Across a range of experimental designs, studies consistently find a lot of variation between people in their everyday phenomenal experience. For instance, some people seem to spend their entire day experiencing vivid mental imagery, whereas others report that they do not experience it at all. There are other examples such as synesthesia, a condition that drastically affects a person's phenomenology but that does not seem to significantly impact their everyday functioning. In this seminar I would to introduce you to ja range of interesting sources that suggests that there is much more interpersonal variation in conscious experience than we might expect, and I will talk a bit about the consequences this might have for various philosophical debates. And If we are lucky, maybe we will even discover some interesting examples from the people in our midst. Upcoming presentations until the summer break:
  • 28 June: Antonio Scarafone, t.b.a.
  • 5 July: Anco Peeters, t.b.a.
