Reading Group: Digital Democracy
27 February @ 14:00 - 15:30
This autumn, we started a new reading group on the topic of “Digital Democracy” and any topic in social choice theory more generally. Each meeting, which lasts about two hours, we pick one paper that we all read. One person presents a short summary of the paper and raises a few discussion points. The majority of the meeting is meant for a critical discussion of the paper. We meet every four weeks on Tuesday 14:00 (CET). In the past, we have read Fair algorithms for selecting citizens’ assemblies by Flanigan et al., and Social Choice Theory and Deliberative Democracy: A Reconciliation by Dryzek and List. Please, reach out to Nicolien (janssens@esphil.eur.nl) in case you would like to join (a session of) this reading group.
The next meeting will be on February 27th, where we will discuss Independence and interdependence in collective decision making: An agent-based model of nest-site choice by honeybee swarms by List et al.
About the OZSW event calendar
The OZSW event calendar lists academic philosophy events organized by/at Dutch universities, and is offered by the OZSW as a service to the research community. Please check the event in question – through their website or organizer – to find out if you could participate and whether registration is required. Obviously we carry no responsibility for non-OZSW events.
