Philosophical One Man Show on The Mystery of Consciousness
10 May 2013 @ 15:00 - 15:30
|Philosophical One Man Show on The Mystery of Consciousness
by Dr. Peter Hacker (St. John’s College, Oxford)
May, 10th., 2013 (Academiegebouw Utrecht, Kanunnikenzaal, 15.00 uur)
The well-known Wittgenstein scholar and analytic philosopher Dr. P. M. S. Hacker recently wrote a number of philosophical dialogues. Some of the interlocutors strikingly resemble trend-setting analytic philosophers and scientists. On Friday, May 10th, he will present his dialogue on the mystery of consciousness in Utrecht, imitating the voices of each of the interlocutors (at 3.20 p.m., Kanunnikenzaal, Academy Building (Academiegebouw), Utrecht; entrance: Achter de Dom 7; coffee and tea available from 3 p.m.). There will be ample time for philosophical discussion on the problem of consciousness after Hacker’s presentation. And there will be time for a Platonic drinking spree! All of you are welcome indeed.
Convenor: Prof. dr. Herman Philipse, Distinguished Professor in Philosophy at Utrecht University (e-mail: Herman.Philipse@phil.uu.nl)
Supporting institutions: FUF, Descartes Centre.
