The School of Brentano and the Rise of Scientific Philosophy

The workshop “The School of Brentano and the Rise of Scientific Philosophy” will take place 29-30 September 2016 in Utrecht, organized by Carlo Ierna as the concluding symposium of the NWO project: “Philosophy as Science: The Project of the School of Brentano” and as preparation for a COST Action “The Rise of Scientific Philosophy in Central Europe 1831-1939”.

The next session, which will also be the last session of this academic year, will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 10.00-12.00, in Utrecht, Janskerkhof 13, room 0.5 (downstairs). We will complete our reading of the last chapter of section two of Husserl’s Ideas I and discuss our reading plans for the next year.

The next session of our reading group will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 10.00-12.00, in Utrecht, Drift 23. 0.13. We will continue our reading of chapter three of section two of Husserl’s Ideas I, § 52 and onward.

The next session of our reading group will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 10.00-12.00, in Utrecht, Janskerkhof 13, in the Stijlkamer. We will discuss §§ 38-39 of Husserl’s Ideas I and then proceed with our reading.
