The study group is open to those who are interested in the formal and conceptual investigation of group interaction, particularly in democratic deliberation and other decision-making processes. More specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to: formal models of argumentation and deliberation, social choice theory, and theories of democratic participation and representation.

The group meets (at least) once per year with “core events” such as book workshops or workshops on a specific topic of interest. Moreover, it will host ancillary activities such as reading groups, depending on the interest of the participants.
