Topic & aim

The study group convenes about twice every three months to discuss reading on the intersection of philosophy and statistics. Recurring topics are model selection, probabilistic logic, statistical inference, interpretations of probability, and confirmation theory.

Set-up & practicalities

The group has about 40 members, and includes philosophers as well as mathematicians and scientisits with a methodological interest. The group meets mostly in the centre of the country.
