The Department for Philosophy and Religious Studies at Utrecht University is looking for two Assistant Professors in the field of Practical Philosophy, respectively in Philosophical Ethics and in Political Philosophy. The positions includes both teaching (70%) and research (30%), and are part of the Ethics Institute. Together with the groups “Theoretical Philosophy” and “History of Philosophy”, this group is responsible for the department?s research and teaching in philosophy.
We are looking for colleagues who can contribute significantly to research in the field of ethics and/or political philosophy, and who have teaching expertise and interest in both ethics and political philosophy. With regard to teaching, we expect proven teaching skills and the ability to teach at both the BA- and MA-level, contribute to interdisciplinary teaching activities, supervise theses, and be available for teaching-related administrative tasks, such as committee work or curriculum development.
The candidate is also expected to be available for other administrative tasks in the Department and/or Faculty, resulting, when appropriate, in proportional reductions in teaching duties.
