Climate Justice in Theory and Practice Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics (EIPE) Erasmus School of Philosophy Erasmus University Rotterdam 4 April, 2022 This day workshop will address theoretical and practical issues on climate justice at the intersection of philosophy, economics, and law, bringing together theoreticians and practitioners from all three disciplines. A special focus will be on the duties of states, companies and individuals to take action against climate change; and on the use of international law and human rights legislation as an instrument to enforce climate actions. The dialogue between academics, NGOs and activists aims to explore how academic work can be made fruitful for action for climate justice, while allowing the experience of practitioners to inform academic inquiry. The workshop is organized by the project “Inequality Against Freedom” (funded by NWO, PI Nicholas Vrousalis), and the project “How much is enough?” (funded by NWO, EUR and the Erasmus Initiative ‘Dynamics of Inclusive Prosperity’, PI Constanze Binder).
