Annual Centre for Political Philosophy Lecture On October 29, 15.00-17.00, Professor Rae Langton will give the fourth annual CPP Lecture in Leiden, commemorating the fourth year of the Centre’s existence. Annual Centre for Political Philosophy Lecture
On October 29, 15.00-17.00, Professor Rae Langton will give the fourth annual CPP Lecture in Leiden, commemorating the fourth year of the Centre's existence.
Rae Langton is professor of philosophy at the University of Cambridge. In particular she is known for her work on questions about the ethics of pornography and objectification. Among her publications are famous articles such as ‘Whose right? Ronald Dworkin, Women, and Pornographers’, ‘Speech Acts and Unspeakable Acts’ which all have been reprinted in various textbooks on feminist philosophy and translated into many languages. In 2009 she published 'Sexual Solipsism'. In addition, professor Langton has a keen interest in Kant. She published a monograph on Kant entitled 'Kantian Humility: Our Ignorance of Things in Themselves'.
On October 30, there will be a workshop in Leiden with Rae Langton in collaboration with SWIP-NL dedicated to Langton's work. Further announcements will be made in September — for now please keep both dates free in your agendas!
