About the topic
During the event, Prof. Dr. Peter-Paul Verbeek (University of Twente) will provide philosophical reflections on what it means to live with technologies; and Dr. Vincent Blok (Wageningen Univesity) will critically review the popular science fiction book “The Circle” by Dave Eggers in the light of philosophy of innovation. In between the lectures, the participants will be invited to join in a brief workshop to answer the question on what kind of techno utopia/dystopia they would (not) wish to live in.

16.15 – 16.25 – Closing off. Movie explanations and directions
16.25 – 17.00 – Walking to De Lux (art house)

Costs
Participation in the event is free of charge! During the event, refreshing beverages will be provided. After the event, there will be an optional viewing of the movie “The Cirlce” at the local art house LUX. This will be at the participants’ own expense (9,50 EUR regular/7 EUR student), subject to discount if more than 20 people register.
