Call for Submissions

The OZSW invites abstract submissions for contributed papers, panels, workshops, and lightning talks in all areas of philosophy. Please submit your anonymized abstracts (350-500 words, excl. references) by January 15, 2025 (11:59 CEST) using this link. All submissions should be in English. The program committee will strive for quality, variety, and diversity within the program. To encourage participation and accessibility, we are offering a limited number of need-based bursaries for covering registration fees for participants accepted to the conference (more information below).

You can submit to one of the following sessions:

  • Contributed Papers: We welcome submissions of contributed papers, either individual or co-authored, for inclusion in themed parallel sessions (comprising four papers per session) across both days of the conference. Each paper will be allocated 30 minutes, including time for presentation and discussion. Please refrain from submitting individual papers that are also part of panel proposals.
  • Panels: We welcome panel proposals that bring together scholars working on similar topics or projects to discuss their contributions. The conference will host up to four panels across both days. Each panel will be allocated 90 minutes, including time for presentations and discussions, and should feature a minimum of three and a maximum of four papers.
  • Workshops: We welcome interactive interdisciplinary or intradisciplinary workshop sessions that are explorative, participatory, and experiential—for example, showcasing teaching methodologies or engaging with artistic research practices. The conference will host up to two workshops across both days. Each workshop will be allocated 90 minutes and should include a minimum of five and a maximum of ten participants.
  • Lightning Talks: We welcome works in progress and exploratory ideas to be presented in just under 10 minutes. Master’s and Bachelor’s students are especially encouraged to use this format to share their research and gain valuable feedback from attendees.
