History of Philosophy in the Netherlands: Challenges and Opportunities

Description

The OZSW History of Philosophy Section is organizing a one-day conference and community building event for historians of philosophy in the Netherlands. The conference aims to discuss the intellectual and institutional climate for students and researchers in the history of philosophy and to reflect on the challenges and opportunities for the discipline in an age of cuts and crises.

The conference will take place in Utrecht on October 3, 2025.

The conference will feature a variety of sessions—invited talks, round table discussions, flash talks and poster presentations—and aims to bring together practicing historians of philosophy, PhD and research master students, members of the OZSW chamber, and external stakeholders (affiliated research schools, journal editors, and publishers).
