Program of the Annual OZSW Winter School for ReMa students

The OZSW is happy to announce the program of the Annual OZSW Winter School for ReMa students. 9 professors, well representative of the diversity of the field, have been brought together for this unique two-day winter school, taking place from 10 to 11 February 2017 at the University of Groningen.

The Winter School aims at providing students from the 5 ReMa programs (Groningen, Utrecht, Nijmegen, UvA and Rotterdam) with an overview of a broad range of active philosophical research being conducted in the Netherlands, in order to contribute to their professional development, and to give them an opportunity to meet one another. In the three research-oriented sessions, several speakers will give a presentation on a philosophical topic related to their research. Students will then have an opportunity for questions. After each session, there will be a panel discussion (about 45 minutes) in which speakers will talk about their own experiences as philosophy researchers, discuss how their research developed, as well as what was the best advice they ever got. There will also be sessions devoted to several aspects of professional development, including how to write a successful research proposal and how to get published in a philosophy journal, and finally a discussion of possibilities for contributing to philosophy in the public sphere.

Besides, the OZSW has a limited budget to financially support OZSW PhD students living far away from Groningen. If you want to benefit from it, please send a motivated request at secretariaat@ozsw.nl before February 1st.
