In the three research-oriented sessions, several speakers will give a presentation on a philosophical topic related to their research. Students will then have an opportunity for questions. After each session, there will then be a panel discussion (about 45 minutes) in which speakers talk about their own experiences as philosophy researchers, discussion how their research developed, as well as what the best advice is they ever got. There will also be sessions devoted to several aspects of professional development, including how to write a successful research proposal and how to get published in a philosophy journal, as well as a discussion of possibilities for contributing to philosophy in the public sphere.
