About the topic

You have worked hard and developed impressive skills during your PhD. Now you are thinking about your future options. Are your skills and qualities useful for a job outside of academia? Are there jobs that you would enjoy? During the OZSW PhD career event, you will learn about your career opportunities outside of academia and how to identify your professional skills that are valuable in a non-academic context.

Program

The programme divided into two parts. The first part provides you with general information about careers outside of academia: in the keynote lecture, Inge van der Weijden will show you where PhD holders work outside of academia and how they got there. In the subsequent presentation carousel, trained philosophers who now work outside of academia will share their personal insights with you. The second part provides you with opportunities to reflect upon your own future. Two workshop sessions assist you in identifying your relevant skills, qualities and possible career options, and in a road mapping session, you determine your next practical steps. Finally, the event is concluded with drinks, kindly sponsored by the OZSW.
